The designer had been “undergoing numerous challenging treatments” according to the statement which could explain his step down from fashion in September of 2019 when it was announced by Virgil Abloh himself that he was taking a break from fashion following doctor’s orders which led to several cancelled events and appearances that autumn.

Virgil Abloh leaves behind a legacy within the fashion industry. Starting off as Kanye West’s apprentice, Abloh created his label Off-White in 2012 and ascended into the position as the artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear collection in 2018.

Abloh leaves behind his wife and two children.

His work to combine contemporary art and fashion will never be forgotten and will live on in the amazing work he left behind. Rest in Power,Virgil Abloh.
