When you think of Haute Couture some may think of over designed, avant garde garments that the average person would never wear. With the Valentino Fall 2023 Couture collection Pierpaolo Piccioli is providing a new approach to couture with elegant and simple designs that are easy to wear.
Most of the collection consists of timeless pieces such as the opening look of an oversized white v-neck top, blue jeans and bow heels.
Other looks include column dresses, tunics, cowl neck tops and dresses with a few wow pieces featuring flower-like hooded dresses and floral motif gowns.
The collection also featured a large range of bright and stunning colors such as bright pinks, deep reds and royal blues. Even with the simplicity of the overall collection, the designs themselves were bold and vibrant with beautiful draping and intricate details within the garments.
Valentino has once again shown itself to be one of the best in couture without having to create an overproduced collection of artsy pieces. In the words of a respected artist, Constantin Brancusi, “Simplicity is complexity resolved.”
