PROFILE: Armstrong & Wilson

The BALDWIN’s video editor Paige Wilson is back with another interview. This month, she sat down with Ontario Armstrong and Clifton Wilson, founders and creative directors of Armstrong & Wilson — a luxury menswear accessories brand. Watch the three of them talk fashion, pandemic, and finding the right creative collaborator.

A little over ten years ago, Ontario Armstrong and Clifton Wilson came together after a chance meeting at fashion school in Philadelphia to form what is now Armstrong & Wilson. Their brand is a celebration of dapper opulence that aesthetically belongs in another period where men wore suits to get the morning paper. They exist and operate their business today with success, style, and a sensibility that speaks to the modern millennial and the seasoned sartorialist.

Known mostly for their pocket squares, the Armstrong & Wilson brand has outfitted, Lebron James (Cleveland Cavaliers), Anthony Hamilton (Grammy Award-Winning artist), Mos Def (Hip Hop Artist/Actor), Al Roker (Today Show), Michael Smith (ESPN), Carson Daly (TV Host), and The Roots (Grammy Award Recipient/The Tonight Show Band).

The brand is currently carried in retailers large and small — including Nordstrom’s which is a major part of their brand history.

Most recently, I had the opportunity to sit with the two designers and we talked all things pandemic, preference, pret-a-porter, and brand promotion. This is part one of a 2-part interview with the gentlemen. If you’re a fashion student, entrepreneur, or lover of menswear, this interview is for you.
