Fashion Editor Keyonna Butler has you covered.
Can you believe it’s already August?! While everyone is still rocking their Barbie core looks, it’s the perfect time to start shopping for your fall and winter wardrobe. While I believe one should wear what they want, sometimes checking out the latest trends is a great way to mix up your wardrobe each quarter of the year. Check out some of my favorite trends for the fall and winter seasons that are fresh off the runway.
Business Core aka Power Dressing
This modern take on the power dressing of the 80’s will give us polished suits, crisps button up tops, pencil skirts, blazers and pinstripes. Lots and lots of pinstripes. Some brands you can take inspiration from are Saint Laurent, Off White and Stella McCartney.

Minimalism of the 90s
Even with the explosion of maximalist fashion thanks to TikTok and Instagram, minimalist fashion lovers will have their moment again this fall. Need ideas to accomplish this look? Think knitted dresses, trench coats, denim jackets, basic tops for easy layering and a beautiful nude color palette. Brands to look to for inspiration are Bottega Veneta, Valentino and Wales Bonner.

The Category is Red
Even though Viva Magenta was Pantone color of the year, red will be the true color of the fall season. You can expect to see the color on outwear, footwear and practically be worn as a neutral color. Some brands that adopted the color in their brands for the fall season are Ferragamo, Balmain and Louis Vuttion.

Return of the 2010s
While we are still very much into Y2K fashion, the 2010’s are making a comeback in the most stylish way of course. Think trends such as high-low silhouettes, slouchy bags, peplum shapes and ruffled, asymmetrical hemlines. Brands to look to for inspiration are Acne Studios, Brandon Maxwell and Versace.
